CINÀ RETURNS TO SARDINIA; MUNAR IS TOP SEED

Olbia, September 22, 2026 – After the customary one-year wait, Sardinia is ready to welcome back the Olbia Challenger. Organized by MEF Tennis Events in partnership with Tennis Club Terranova, this ATP Challenger 125 tournament will celebrate its fourth edition from October 11 to 18. The event boasts an entry list featuring four Top 100 players, with the wild card recipients yet to be announced. Supported for the fourth consecutive year by Health Partner Mater Olbia, the tournament will see Jaume Munar headline a field that also includes several Italian players; notable names include the talented Federico Cinà (born in 2007), alongside Stefano Travaglia, Andrea Guerrieri, and Francesco Maestrelli. As was the case last year, matches will be broadcast live on SuperTennis.
Munar leads the entry list featuring four Top 100 players – World No. 66 Jaume Munar will top the entry list for the fourth edition of the Olbia Challenger. The former ATP No. 33 arrives following a season in which he reached the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam, as well as the third round at Wimbledon and the second round of the US Open. This tournament will be one of the Spaniard’s final stops before returning to represent his country in the Davis Cup, having just helped secure qualification for the Final Eight in Bologna. Among the various Italian tennis players competing in Olbia, the talented Federico Cinà certainly stands out: the Palermo native—born in 2007—won his first title on the Challenger circuit in Pune earlier this season. Just a few weeks ago, he successfully navigated the US Open qualifiers for the second time in his career (having previously done so at Roland Garros), before falling in the first round of the main draw to Alex Michelsen, who went on to reach the quarterfinals of the American Grand Slam. The second seed is Britain’s Jacob Fearnley, fresh off an impressive US Open run where he advanced from qualifying to the second round, while Jesper de Jong and Damir Dzumhur round out the list of Top 100 players. Spectators at the Tennis Club Terranova will also have the chance to watch other Italian players in action: while Stefano Travaglia (a former world number 60) is a more familiar name, there is great interest in seeing Andrea Guerrieri compete. Starting the season ranked outside the world’s top 500 and now sitting at number 167 following a remarkable rise, the 27-year-old from Correggio recently gained his first-ever Grand Slam main draw experience in New York, having brilliantly made his way through the qualifying rounds.
